2025 AACS Congressional Summit & Hill Day:
Two Days of Advocacy, 100+ Congressional Meetings, and One United Voice for Career Education
Last week in Washington, D.C., the American Association of Career Schools (AACS) brought together a dynamic group of beauty, barber, and wellness education leaders for its 2025 Congressional Summit & Hill Day. From coast to coast, AACS member schools and vendor partners made their way to the nation’s capital, united by a mission: to ensure that the voice of beauty, barber, and wellness education is heard loud and clear in federal policymaking.
Over the course of two action-packed days, more than 85 AACS school members and Partners came together to advocate for the future of career education. With over 100 meetings on Capitol Hill, attendees connected directly with Members of Congress to shine a spotlight on the critical role our schools and sector play in workforce development, economic mobility, and small business success.
This year’s Hill Day put a spotlight on several key legislative priorities, including:
- Access to financial aid programs through the Partial HEA Reauthorization
- Support of the No Tax on Tips initiative
- The ongoing challenge of tariffs on beauty supplies impacting small businesses
- Support for the Clock Hour Program Student Protection Act
To prepare, attendees participated in advocacy training sessions and heard from an impressive lineup of more than 20 expert speakers—including Acting Under Secretary for the U.S. Department of Education James Bergeron and keynote speaker Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA), among other education, lobbying, and policy specialists.
AACS’s 2025 Congressional Summit & Hill Day wasn’t just about meetings, it was about momentum. And as this energized community heads back to their campuses and businesses, one thing is clear: the beauty, barber, and wellness education sector is stronger—and more united—than ever.
